Bridgend Association of Voluntary Organisations
BAVO's networks and forums offer local groups an opportunity to meet with other organisations, to share ideas and concerns, to develop interagency partnerships and to agree voluntary sector standpoints to take forward into consultation with statutory and other bodies.
BAVO facilitates the following networks and forums:
Substance Misuse Action Team (SMAT)
The SMAT is a sub group of the Community Safety Partnership (CSP). The SMAT is responsible for how substance misuse services in Bridgend are planned and delivered.

Bridgend Substance Misuse Action Team Commissioning Strategy
- The Welsh Assembly Government (WAG) requires all Community Safety Partnerships in each local authority area across Wales to produce a commissioning strategy.
- A local commissioning strategy is needed to provide a strategic approach to how services are developed and ensure services meet people’s needs.
- The commissioning strategy action plan will be delivered over 3years form the date of agreement.
The consultation period on the Commissioning Strategy closed on June 5th 2009 although the consultation document can be downloaded from the Bridgend Local Health Board website.
