BAVO's latest volunteering e-bulletin packed with good news stories and opportunities for you or your organisation!

Do you know any individual or group who has made an outstanding contribution to their community? We want to front page of ebulletinrecognise and honour outstanding people and organisations that have made a significant contribution to our community during the past year and we want to hear from you!

The Third Sector Support Wales partners have launched an exciting new digital volunteering platform to  replace the current system. Registration is straightforward and the website will remind volunteers of forthcoming commitments as well as being a record of what they have achieved, particularly useful for updating your CV! For organisations working with volunteers, the new system will help you to recruit and manage volunteers, log   volunteer hours, plan rotas and events, record training and experience and produce reports.

Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers! Throughout our Volunteers’ Week celebrations, local organisations joined us at various venues throughout the area to give out information explaining how volunteering can benefit individuals’ lives.

Do you have an hour to spare? We desperately need more volunteer befrienders.

Link Up Project: 'Strengthening 3rd sector skills' - BAVO is working in partnership with  Swansea CVS and Neath/Port Talbot CVS to strengthen third sector governance and skills development through a range of interventions, such as recruiting and matching skilled mentors from public, private and independent sectors with third sector organisations. Volunteering is integral to achieving our Big Lottery funded project.

Two groups and nine individuals who devote themselves to projects in their local communities received national recognition during the presentation of the Wales Volunteer Awards 2018 run by Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA) at The Cornerstone in Cardiff, hosted by WCVA Vice President Tom Jones Chief Executive Ruth Marks. 

Congratulations to local winner Alex Williams from Maesteg who was the winner of Young Volunteer (under 25 years) and Y Bont Crafters' Club and Ryan Jones who achieved 'Highly Commended' certificates for their volunteering achievements!
