Volunteer mentor opportunities with Sova ACE
Date published: 07/03/2018
Sova ACE (Achieving Change Through Employment) is looking to recruit volunteer mentors, to support BAME (Black, Asian, Minority, Ethnic) and migrant workers into employment through CV workshops, training and English .
Sova ACE helps Black and Minority Ethnic people in Wales to access training, volunteering and employment opportunities. The project is able to help any person into work who identifies as Black or Minority Ethnic, is aged 25 or older and is either long term unemployed (12 months +) or economically inactive (including but not limited to, migrants and refugees).
The project helps participants to identify the barriers that they feel are preventing them from being ‘job ready’ and helps them along the way to securing work.
Their Case Officers work across Wales to support participants with mentoring, in accessing training, in gaining volunteering opportunities and ultimately into employment. They are particularly targeted to help women.
Sova Ace is working in Bridgend and looking to recruit volunteers locally. Volunteers will be offered training. If you can spare a few hours a week, contact Bridgend Volunteer Centre for further details, T: 01656 660372 or E: firstname.lastname@example.org
