Dance support volunteers needed to help with adults and children with disabilities

Impetus Dance is looking for dance support volunteers to help with adults and children with disabilities.logo

You will need to have an interest in dancing with some basic knowledge of the principles of dance especially in Ballroom and Latin or Latino. 

Volunteers will:

  • assist those who require support to move whilst dancing or required assistance with direction of movement around the dance floor;
  • assist with the set up and take down of the venues room before and after the event. This will include moving furniture, setting up music appliances, assist participants to complete appropriate forms and take monies for subscriptions.

Impetus Dance is a Community Interest Company that provides Wheelchair and inclusive Ballroom, Latin and Latino group dances to the disability community across the South Wales area. The organisation is affiliated to the Wheelchair Dance Schools Association UK(WDSA), which is the National Governing Body for Wheelchair Dance Sport within the UK. The aim of WDSA is to promote wheelchair dance sport as a leisure activity for everyone, with no boundaries to age or level of ability.   

Impetus Dance is the very first enterprise of its kind within South Wales and brings together dance and therapy to promote individuals socialisation; enhance their wellbeing and improve their physical stamina and endurance.
