ScoutsCymru launched brand new website
Date published: 18/04/2017
ScoutsCymru is delighted to have launched their brand new site – vacancies.scoutscymru.org.uk with the sole aim of successfully placing more volunteers within Scouting across Wales.
vacancies.scoutscymru.org.uk is a central place for all current Scout volunteering roles across Wales. It offers a simple and modern way for potential volunteers to find out what is available near to them, get a feel for the roles, and apply directly – all in the space of five minutes.
They have more than 1,000 volunteer vacancies across Wales in every unitary authority area. The result of this is they cannot offer the Scout adventure to as many young people as they would like. Simply, more volunteers means more places for young people to have fun, learn and grow.
Will it replace our use of volunteering-wales.net?
No, they are launching the site to compliment other means of attracting volunteers to Scouting. This means they will still will use the Volunteering Wales website and welcome volunteers however they come to them. Their new web address will form part of each advert they place on volunteering-wales.net
Who can use it?
Anyone! There are no accounts or logins so anyone can use it, be that a potential volunteer looking for a role or a member of your staff who is supporting someone into volunteering.
What happens after an enquiry is made?
One of the ScoutsCymru team will get in touch with the volunteer to establish the very best way they can be placed. Even if the volunteer initially applied for one type of role, they may be presented with additional options after this initial conversation.
Why is it good for your Volunteer Centre?
The site will make it easier for your staff to find appropriate volunteer vacancies within Scouts and therefore place more volunteers. They are also setting up a comprehensive tracking system so will be able to inform you of the outcome of each referral you make.
If you have questions about the site, how it will help place more volunteers or anything else, email Chris Matthews, E: firstname.lastname@example.org
