Be part of shaping the lives of older people in Port Talbot.
Age Cymru Afan Nedd is currently looking for dedicated people with a passion for improving the lives of older people, to complement and strengthen the existing board.
Wales has the fastest growing ageing population in the UK. Currently there are 800,000 people aged 50 or over, one quarter of the population, which will rise to over 1 million in the next 20 years. Age Cymru Afan Nedd has been dedicated to supporting older people in the Port Talbot area since it was established 40 years ago.
They want to ensure that we are working to meet this clear increasing need; supporting older people in our communities, and ensuring that they have fulfilling and enjoyable lives.
They are particularly looking for Trustees with strengths in at least one of the areas below. (applicants with other relevant skills are also welcome):
- Business development;
- Fundraising/Income generation/ Grants;
- Charity sector financial skills;
- Experience of working at a high level in the health sector in Wales;
- Strategic planning;
- Legal Matters;
- Marketing and Public Relations;
- Charitable/Voluntary Sector
Please note that this is an unpaid volunteer role.
The Trustee Board meets six times a year at the Riverside Day Centre in Port Talbot. You will be expected to make all reasonable efforts to attend, and allow for preparation time, and other one off events, meetings and planning days as required.
