British Red Cross looking for volunteers to support people who are lonely and isolated
Date published: 13/02/2017
The British Red Cross needs volunteers for a new and exciting service, supporting people in Bridgend County Borough who are lonely and isolated.
The British Red Cross provides support for people who are experiencing crisis. For many elderly people in the local area, loneliness can be life-changing, significantly affecting their health and wellbeing.
With a team of enthusiastic volunteers, the British Red Cross works with individuals in the community, helping them to build up confidence and to reintegrate back into the community, supporting them to live independently again.
They work to help the individuals achieve goals that matter to them, working to overcome barriers such as mobility, lack of confidence and isolation.
All it takes is a few hours a week to make a real difference in someone’s life.
