Poverty and welfare reform: exploring the impact on homelessness and housing-related support

The day will consist of plenaries and workshops on a range of topics relevant to poverty in Wales and the impact of welfare reform, including how this relates to people who use and deliver homelessness and housing-related support services.

Topics include:

  • Poverty in Wales;
  • Welfare sanctions;
  • Devolution of Universal Credit powers;
  • Socio-economic disadvantage and suicidal behaviour;
  • Young people and welfare reform;
  • Devolution of housing costs in short-term supported accommodation;
  • Social security for vulnerable people;
  • The Valleys taskforce.

This is an all-day event, with lunch and refreshments provided. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions, share thoughts and network.
