Cymorth Cymru will be looking at how providers of homelessness and housing-related support can adopt or improve approaches which are psychologically-informed. At a broader level, they will consider how we can take account of people's experiences and struggles in order to have compassionate and successful relationships with vulnerable people.
Topics will focus on how to push our sector further forward, looking at research, practice and people themselves for new ideas.
The day will consist of plenaries, workshops and panel debates on specific areas of support provision and the wider issues too. This is an all-day event, with lunch and refreshments provided and lots of chances to have your say and to connect with other people working in the sector.
It follows on from a surge of interest in the 'ACEs agenda' in housing-related support last year, when Cymorth Cymru ran two conferences on the subject, and launched the first phase of the PATH training programme in partnership with the ACEs Hub and WLGA last year. They trained 1,000 practitioners, leaders and commissioners in the housing-related support sector to increase their awareness of the effect of trauma and different ways of working with this in mind.
