After nearlly seven years, Chief Executive Heléna Herklots CBE will be stepping down from Carers UK.
"It has been an enormous privilege to lead the charity, and I know it will go from strength in the future.
"It has been a pleasure to meet many of you over the years, and I’d like to thank you for sharing so generously your experiences, views, wisdom and ideas with me - at roadshows and carer events across the country, on the online forum, at our Annual General Meeting and Members Conference, and in our committees in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
"Carers UK will be recruiting a new Chief Executive and I know that whoever takes on the role, will draw inspiration from the Carers UK membership, as I have done.
"In August I will take up my new post of Older People’s Commissioner for Wales. In this role I will be protecting and championing the rights of older people in Wales, and you can rest assured that this will include carers!
"In the meantime my focus is on what we are doing here at Carers UK, starting with Carers Week next week.
"Thank you again for being a member of Carers UK and for all your support."
