Current restrictions

Welsh Government last reviewed Covid restrictions on 18 June when they paused the full move into alert level one for four weeks. This delay will help to reduce the peak number of daily hospitalisations by up to half and provide time for more people to receive their second dose of vaccine.

On 25 June, they carried out the formal three week review of the regulations. Welsh Government have carefully considered the data and evidence and confirm that the restrictions in place should be maintained until at least the next regulatory review which will take place by 15 July.

You must:

  • wear a face covering (if you are able to) in all indoor public places;
  • only form an extended household with no more than 2 other households and they should stay the same;
  • not meet with anyone other than your extended household indoors in your home;
  • not meet with more than five other people in indoor regulated settings, such as cafes, restaurants and pubs (unless you are meeting with only people you live);
  • meet no more than 29 other people outdoors including in private gardens, public spaces and outdoor areas of regulated premises such as cafes, restaurants and pubs.

You should:

  • follow social distancing rules with people you do not live with or who are not in your exclusive extended household;
  • work from home if you can;
  • minimise travel to areas of high prevalence.
