Deadline 16 January 2018 (midnight)

Alcohol Research UK is continuing its priority theme, Treatment and Recovery Today, but is committing extra funding to the programme to reflect the potential costs of building public involvement into the design and delivery of funded project.

The programme now offers grants of up to £75,000 for projects that address emerging issues in alcohol research, employ novel theoretical or methodological approaches, or pilot new work in treatment or service delivery.

In particular, proposals that address one or more of the following areas are encouraged:

  • Mental health issues and dual diagnosis;
  • Needs assessment and response to demand;
  • Pathways through, and barriers to, treatment and recovery;
  • Health or social inequalities and access to/experiences of treatment and recovery support;
  • Experiences of minority groups or hard-to-reach communities;
  • Understanding the 'active ingredients' in treatment and recovery;
  • The impact of economic pressures/sector restructuring on service provision.

Applications will be accepted from researchers who are employed in the UK by organisations such as universities, colleges, other academic institutions, local authorities, voluntary organisations, police, probation and health authorities.

Applicants should read the Research Strategy before applying for the programme

The deadline for applications is 16 January 2018 (midnight).
