Lottery Awards For All makes Y Bont's 21st birthday family fun day a success!

As part of their 21st year celebrations, local charity Y Bont recently hosted a family fun day at The Amelia Trust Farm, Barry. Thanks to a grant from the BIG Lottery ‘Awards for All’ the event was a great success, enjoyed by past and present ‘Y Bontees’!
Y Bont would like to thank all of the families and children who attended their 21st celebration day. Past and present families were able to get together, to swap stories and celebrate their children’s achievements. Thanks to their grant, all were able to enjoy the free entertainment including, face painting, circus acts, bouncy castles, crafts and live music. The music was provided by Gracie Richards, a supporter of Y Bont and Garin Lang, a past attendee of Y Bont.
Garin, attended Y Bont as a child, now aged 18; he is studying at Heronsbridge School. Garin sang and played his guitar unaccompanied for 2 hours entertaining the crowds with his fantastic voice!
"It was an absolute joy to see the children who have now grown into young adults and who are doing so well for themselves, it was lovely to catch up with Cellan Hall and his family, Cellan (who attended Y Bont as a child) has gone on to represent Wales in table tennis and is studying astrophysics at Cardiff University" – Paula Daniel (Y Bont staff)
The event was especially nice for other staff that have worked at Y Bont for many years and supported the children and their families. Many of the children now attend different schools and colleges and it was wonderful to see and hear all their individual achievements, they are truly an inspiration!
Y Bont would like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported the entertainment and activities at our event. Mini Mayhem, Jo Gym Jams, Zumbini, Martha from Circus Eruption, Liz from Slapping Skins, Eli Trust, South Wales Photo Booths, Alana from Mini Miss Makeover and Joanne their wonderful face painter!
A final special thank you goes to the Y Bont staff, volunteers and the team from White Stuff Bridgend, who all gave up their Sunday to help make this day a huge success.
